Terms & Conditions

Alerts are provided by BusinessDesk, a subsidiary of Content Limited. To ensure continuous service and to make managing your subscription easy, our content feed subscriptions are auto-renewing.

All pricing excludes GST. All transactions are debited in New Zealand dollars. BusinessDesk reserves the right to change the current rate for its services from time to time.

Dissemination rights
Subscriptions to BusinessDesk Alerts confer no right of dissemination or transfer of copyright. Your Alerts subscription is for personal use, you may not copy or transmit it’s contents either electronically or in hard copies. If you are interested in disseminating BusinessDesk content for your broader organisational needs, please contact The Editor at info@businessdesk.co.nz for information on licensing. We are happy to discuss a republication feed.

Content Feed Renewals 
You can cancel your subscription to our Alerts service by logging into your profile and clicking on “Cancel Your Subscription” under “Profile & Account Settings”. You may also advise us by email info@businessdesk.co.nz, or call 04 499 8891. If you do not cancel your subscription or we do not hear from you, we will automatically renew your subscription at the current rate. You can change or cancel your subscription at any time, but we do not offer refunds for part-periods, except at our discretion.

Group-User subscriptions
Group-user subscriptions are available to organisations with multiple users. Discounted rates are available to group users, and unlimited access options may be negotiated for very large organisations. Please contact info@businessdesk.co.nz or call Pattrick Smellie on 04 499 8891 to find out more.

Subscriptions may be transferred by contacting info@businessdesk.co.nz. BusinessDesk will endeavour to complete transfers within 5 business days. The original subscriber will retain responsibility for payment of the subscription until the end of the billing cycle in which the transfer in completed.

Refund Policy
When you cancel, your subscription benefits continue until the end of your current paid-up period. Content Ltd does not provide refunds on cancelled subscriptions. Exceptions will only be granted at the discretion of the publisher. Content Ltd will meet its obligations, where applicable, under the Consumer Guarantees Act and the Fair Trading Act. The laws of New Zealand apply to these terms and conditions. Any dispute arising in relation to these terms and conditions will be resolved in accordance with New Zealand law.

Individual subscribers to BusinessDesk Alerts will be billed on the Credit Card nominated when their subscription was established. Billing will be in accordance with the type of subscription the user selected when establishing their subscription, or according to changes in the type of subscription the subscriber has elected to make by personally logging into their profile. Group user subscribers will receive an invoice by the 1st of each month which will be payable by the 20th of that month.

Privacy Policy
By receiving BusinessDesk Alerts, you agree to the Privacy Policy of Content Ltd. If you do not agree to the policy, please do not use this service. Content Ltd examines its privacy policy periodically and reserves the right, at its discretion, to modify or remove portions of this policy at any time. We may collect certain non-personal information to optimise our web pages for your computer or device (i.e., the identity of your Internet browser, the type of operating system you use, your IP address and the domain name of your Internet service provider). We may use such non-personal information for internal purposes, including but not limited to improving the content of our sites. In those instances when we do collect personally identifiable information, the following policies apply:

Personally identifiable information that visitors submit to our site is used only for the purpose for which it is submitted unless we disclose other uses in this Privacy Policy or at the time of collection. Content Ltd may use reputable third parties to manage activities available on our sites including, but not limited to, statistical analysis, or chats. Similarly, we may contract with third parties to handle the fulfilment of subscriptions or requests for information you submit to our sites, such as sending you a content feed. Content Ltd is not responsible for the privacy policies or practices of our business partners. If Content Ltd obtains personal information that has been collected from you by a third party, including our business partners, this Privacy Policy nonetheless governs Content Ltd’s use of that information.Content Ltd may use personally identifiable information in aggregate form to make our services better and more responsive to the needs of our customers. This statistical compilation and analysis of information may also be used by Content Ltd or provided to others, in aggregate, for marketing, advertising or research purposes. Personal information may be disclosed in special situations where Content Ltd has reason to believe that doing so is necessary to identify, contact or bring legal action against anyone damaging, injuring, or interfering (intentionally or unintentionally) with Content Ltd's rights, property, users, or anyone else who could be harmed by such activities. Also, Content Ltd may reveal information when we believe in good faith that the law requires it. Content Ltd maintains appropriate safeguards to ensure the security, integrity and privacy of personally identifiable information submitted to us, and periodically reviews and updates its security measures in light of current technologies. Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be totally secure. Although Content Ltd strives to protect your personal information, we can not ensure or warranty the security of any information you may transmit to us or from our online products and services. This is done so at your own risk. Once we do receive your transmission, however, we make our best effort to ensure its security on our systems. Should credit card information be required as part of any interaction, industry standard encryption is used, in compliance with the current standards required by the banking system.
